ALL Fields are CLOSED for Monday May 13th

Monday, May 6, 2019

We are looking for volunteers in our concession stand at Christmas Tree Park Concessions are not only a convenience for our players and fans but also another way to help reduce costs for our program.  It allows us to host our opponents and provide food/drink for all those in attendance at our games. Misty Brathuhn and Jeffrey Howard do all the organization and purchasing of food but parent volunteers are needed to staff the concessions stand while games are being played.  Manchester Baseball will open and close/clean the concession stand when it is open.  Everyone will be briefed on how to work the stand, where things are, etc.

Rules from Manchester Baseball(since we are handling money)

  • Children can volunteer, but they MUST in high school.
  • 2 people must be in the stand at all times.

The following is the link to our Concession Stand Signup that includes the dates and times help is needed:  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050f4ca9ac29a1fe3-2019

If you know that you cannot work the slot you’ve selected please email manchesterbaseball@gmail.com so we can find a replacement.

Our Opening Day Parade and Ceremony will take place this Saturday April 27th starting at 9 AM.  We ask that ALL players be in uniform at the Manchester Fire Companies Activities Building parking lot by 8:45 AM so we can start the parade promptly at 9 AM.  The children and coaches will parade up York Street to Victory Street then down to the large baseball field (Field “D”) for our Opening Day Ceremony.  Following the Opening Day Ceremony, we will hold our 4th Annual HIT-A-THON, which is NOT mandatory.  To participate in the HIT-A-THON players need to collect donations online at 99 Pledges.  Pledges/Donations for the HIT-A-THON can be made after the Opening Day Ceremony in the form of cash or check.  ALL players should be receiving emails from 99Pledges.com for collecting their donations.  If you HAVEN'T received an email from "Manchester Baseball <support@99pledges.com>", please reply to  manchesterbaseballassociation@gmail.com  and let us know your child’s name.  This year we will be giving each child that participates gets a goody bag with sunflower seeds, a tattoo, bubble gum, a Manchester Baseball magnet, a Manchester Baseball wrist band and a coupon for a free hotdog, bag of chips, and a bottle of water or juice box from our concession stand. The coupon will be good for this baseball season.

We are excited to announce that The Baltimore Orioles Bird will be here for our parade and Opening Day Ceremony.

Coaches and Parents we ask that each team consider making a banner for the team to carry in the parade.

In attempt to help the Tree of Friends Foundation (TOFF) we are asking everyone attending the Opening Day Ceremony to donate some non-perishable food that we can give to TOFF.  The donation boxes will be outside our concession stand at Christmas Tree Park by field "A" and one by the flag pole where the Opening Day Ceremony is being held.
